The Freshwater Aquatic Invertebrate Identification Guide is an electronic key for identifying organisms in western North America. The generous illustrations and electronic format make it a valuable resource for novice as well as advanced users. It has been used to advantage in high school classes, college classes, and by environmental specialists. About 2000 photographs illustrate both the general appearance and detailed characteristics of these animals. Its keys identify most groups to the Order, Family, and Genus levels. The "Collection" facility in the program allows groups of identifications to be saved together for use in manager reports as well as classroom assignments. The program is free running in a Windows XT and Vista environment and can be used with some web browers on Macintosh computers running OSX.
